Karwowski, Lawrence earn wins at The Rock

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Senior Audrey Karwowski (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) and junior Cayla Lawrence (Mendon, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) both earned victories Thursday afternoon as the Grove City College women’s track and field team competed at Slippery Rock University’s annual John Papa Invitational, held at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. Karwowski won the 800 meters in a season-best time of 2 minutes, 15.51 seconds. Lawrence prevailed in the 1500 by recording a season-best time of 4:46.42. Sophomore Julianna Lindberg (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) earned runner-up in the 800 meters with a time of 2:16.43. Two Grove City field performers recorded third-place finishes Thursday.
