Alase, Edmond Earn SWAC Weekly Honors

BATON ROUGE, La. — Southern University's Tashina Alase and Ariyonna Edmond were named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced Friday. Alase turned in a dominant performance at the Pelican Relays, capturing first-place finishes in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 100-meter hurdles. The senior opened with a personal-best 11.68 in the 100m, then followed with a 24.07 in the 200m.
