Campbell and Turner Take Home SoCon Weekly Awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford softball team had two players earn Southern Conference weekly honors this afternoon when the league office released its awards. After a 4-0 week, Makinley Turner and Katie Campbell earned the Player and Pitcher of the Week awards. Turner was named Pitcher of the Week for the second-straight week in the conference. The junior pitched 9.1 innings in appearances against Alabama and Furman as she went 2-0 over the two games. Turner came in relief and earned the win as the Bulldogs defeated No. 3 Alabama.
