Softball Drops Midweek Home Game to Samford

CARROLLTON, Ga. - The UWG softball team fell 14-6 on Tuesday afternoon to the Samford Bulldogs in non-conference action. West Georgia (13-36) led after two innings, but were outscored 14-4 over the final five frames by Samford (23-26). The Bulldogs struck first with Brandy Phillips slugging a two-run home run in the top of the first, but in the bottom half, an error following a Madison McDonald double allowed Tamia Young to score to cut the deficit in half.
