Zapata Captures Southland Athlete of the Week Honor

FRISCO – Incarnate Word's Anthony Zapata has won this week's Southland Conference Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week award, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. This is Zapata's second honor of the season. Zapata had a historic weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational, setting two massive PRs and two school records in his signature events, the 800 and 1500. He re-broke his 800m school record, becoming the first Cardinal to break the 1:50 barrier when he ran 1:48.66 to catapult himself to the top spot in the SLC and #40 in the NCAA West Regional Rankings....
