Bell shatters school record in discus at Monmouth meet, while Christensen sprints to victory in 110 hurdles

Results MONMOUTH, Ill. – Jake Bell ’27 shattered a nearly 50-year-old school record, and Jess Christensen ’29 recorded a first-place finish to lead the Grinnell College men’s track and field team at the Monmouth Thursday Night Twilight. Bell’s school record came in the discus, where he recorded a runner-up toss of 48.04 meters. That performance, which ranks 45th nationally this season, eclipsed the school record of 47.70 meters set by Tom Briles in 1975.
