WVSU sweeps rival UC

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – The West Virginia State softball team picked up a doubleheader sweep over local rivals University of Charleston Thursday afternoon. It is the first time WVSU has beaten UC since April 22, 2021, and the first doubleheader sweep over the Golden Eagles since April 18, 2018. WVSU took the first game 2-1, a pitcher’s duel that needed 10 innings to resolve. The Golden Eagles scored the first run in the top of the 10th, with State responding in the bottom of the frame.
