WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Roger Williams senior Nathan Tassey (Whitman, Mass.) delivered a statement performance Friday night, winning the men’s 5,000-meter run against a loaded field at the Williams Farley-Inter Regional Extraviganza, with a time of 14:04.40. Competing against runners from nationally-ranked Division III programs including Amherst, MIT, Williams, Wesleyan, and RPI, Tassey surged to the front late and closed the race with a remarkable final lap, clocking a 59.91-second split over the last 400 meters to edge Amherst’s Stan Craig by less than a second.
