Cowart Named NCBWA Southeast Region Player of the Week

SALISBURY, N.C. - Zach Cowart has been named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Southeast Region Player of the Week, the organization announced Wednesday morning. The honor is the first weekly award of Cowart's career and marks the third straight season a Lander player has earned Southeast Region Player of the Week recognition, joining Grant Sherrod in 2025 and Connor Droze in 2024. Cowart, the Peach Belt Conference Tournament MVP, batted .500 across three games last week and recorded multiple hits in the bracket final against Columbus State and both games of the PBC Championship Series against 10th-ranked North Georgia....
