C.J. Stroud Expected To Play Out 2026 Without Extension
Texans The Texans exercised QB C.J. Stroud‘s fifth-year option for 2027 this offseason, but he wasn’t among the core players to receive a long-term extension. Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Texans are still “wholly supportive” of Stroud despite the rough end to his 2025 season. However, some around the league tell Fowler they are expecting Stroud to play out the fourth year of his rookie deal without an extension.
