Rattlers Close Historic Season at Gainesville Regional

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The season is over, but the standard has been set. Florida A&M softball’s historic 2026 campaign came to a close on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Gainesville Regional, falling to Texas State 6-0 in the elimination round. The Rattlers leave Gainesville having competed on college softball’s biggest stage for the 14th time overall and the first time as a member of the SWAC. The Rattlers went toe-to-toe with the Sun Belt program through much of the game, battling deep into counts and putting runners on base in the seventh.
