Kyle Busch hospitalized; NASCAR driver will not race at Charlotte
Statement from the Busch family as well as the NASCAR team This weekend, NASCAR is heading to Charlotte Motor Speedway. Cup Series drivers will take the green flag in the famed Coca-Cola 600. The 600-mile race is the longest race of the 2026 season. Due to illness, Kyle Busch, the driver of the No. 8 car will not take part in the race weekend. The announcement was made on Thursday morning. Austin Hill has been selected as the reserve driver and will pilot the No. 8 for RCR.
