Nationals Day One Recap: Brissett Reaches Finals, Javelinas Shine

Kingsville – On the first day of competition at the 2026 NCAA D2 Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, six Texas A&M-Kingsville javelinas competed in five events, producing five Second Team All-Americans, a pair of All-American Honorable Mention performances, and sophomore Onieka Brissett earned a spot in the women’s 400m finals. Brissett earned a spot on an All-American Team in two different events (First – 400m, Second – 200m) during this year’s Indoor season.
