Melvin Advances to NCAA Singles Championship
CHATTANOOGA, TN – Lia Melvin will play in the NCAA Singles Championship after a come-from-behind win in Sunday’s semifinal match. Melvin took on Alessandra Sikharulidze (Babson) in a match-up of unseeded players in the semifinals. Sikharulidze, who had not a lost a set in her first three matches, took the first set 6-1. Melvin answered with a 6-3 win in the second to force a deciding set. And it was Melvin that came out on top, 6-3, to punch her ticket to the championship match.
