For the second straight year, Leylah Fernandez was unable to advance past the first round at Roland-Garros. The Montreal native was eliminated in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) by American Alycia Parks in Round 1 on Monday afternoon. Fernandez came into the tournament as the 24th seed, while Parks was unseeded and had only ever won one match at Roland-Garros, advancing to the second round in 2025.
