Upstate SCHSL softball title roundup, Byrnes loses to Summerville, Crescent wins Game 1

Byrnes softball fell short in its quest to repeat as state champions for the first time in school history. The Rebels were looking to defend their Class 5A-D1 state title against Summerville, the same team they beat last year. But the Green Wave got the last laugh this time, sweeping Byrnes with a 6-5 victory in Game 1, and a 6-3 win in Game 2 on May 27 at Summerville High School.
