Jebitok Qualifies for NCAA Track and Field Championships to Headline Akron’s Thursday Efforts
LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Akron redshirt freshman Mercy Jebitok (Kapsabet, Kenya) ran a Mid-American Conference and school-record time of 33:05.76 in the women's 10,000 meters in second-day competition at the NCAA East Preliminary Round on Thursday (May 28). HOW IT HAPPENED: • Jebitok garnered a seventh-place finish in a time of 33:05.76 to earn a qualifying berth to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 11 in Eugene, Ore.
