Comets Edged In Regional
The season came to an end Thursday for the Greenville High School baseball Comets in the semifinals of the Father McGivney Class 2A Regional. Breese Central edged the Comets 2-1. The Comets took the lead in the first when Rowdy Sussenbach walked, stole second base and scored on a wild pitch. It remained 1-0 until the fourth inning when Central banged out three hits and scored twice. Greenville had the tying run at second base with one out in the seventh, but couldn’t record a run.
