Section 1 in chase mode after Round 1 at NYSPHSAA golf championships

Defending girls state champion Nina Choe of Ursuline is seven shots off the lead. There is work to be done if Section 1’s best golfers are going to contend for NYSPHSAA titles. Scarsdale’s Sam Gao and Rye’s Ryker Kevorkian are tied for ninth following the first round of the boys championships at Mill Creek Golf Club in Churchville.
