Men’s Heavyweight Crew Earns 16 Empacher-IRCA Scholar Athlete Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) has announced the 2026 Empacher-IRCA Scholar Athletes and 16 members of the MIT men’s heavyweight crew team have earned recognition. In order to be named a “scholar athlete”, rowers and coxswains must be in their second year or more of eligibility, have competed in their program’s top 3 boats during the current season or raced at the 2026 IRA Championship, and have, at least, a 3.50 cumulative GPA through fall semester.
