Canucks trading Marcus Pettersson to Rangers for first-round pick
The Vancouver Canucks are trading away a veteran blue-liner. Marcus Pettersson is being dealt to the New York Rangers in exchange for a 2030 first-round pick, the team announced on Wednesday. The pick will be top-10 protected, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports. Pettersson elected to waive his no-movement clause to facilitate the trade. The 30-year-old Swede spent a season-and-a-half in Vancouver after he was acquired ahead of the 2025 trade deadline from the Pittsburgh Penguins.
