Nico Hischier, Devils Nearing Five-Year Extension

The ongoing extension negotiations between the New Jersey Devils and Nico Hischier are expected to conclude today. According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Devils are nearing a five-year, $60MM extension with their captain. ESPN’s Kevin Weekes confirmed Pagnotta’s report, indicating that Hischier’s salary should come in just shy of $12MM per season. Hischier, 27, is entering the final season of a seven-year, $50.75MM extension signed with New Jersey back in 2019.
