Benton Harbor receives $22M federal grant for riverfront redevelopment
BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (WNDU) – A $22 million federal grant has been approved for Benton Harbor to address transportation, infrastructure, and public services needs along Riverview Drive, officials said. Officials said the grant will improve access to several major employers in the area and fund the redevelopment of Benton Harbor’s riverfront corridor. The funding comes from the BUILD program, a discretionary federal program that supports infrastructure projects with local and regional benefits. Planned improvements include roadway realignments, expanded trails, stormwater management, and shoreline restoration.
