Blake Aita Promoted to Double-A Springfield

KENNESAW, Ga. – Former Kennesaw State pitcher Blake Aita was promoted by the St. Louis Cardinals to the club’s Double-A affiliate, the Springfield Cardinals, on Tuesday after a strong first half of the season with High-A Peoria. In 14 starts with the Chiefs, Aita posted a 2-3 record with a 3.92 ERA across 57.1 innings, striking out 67 batters. The left-hander ranked fourth among qualified Midwest League arms with his sub-4.00 ERA and was 20th in strikeouts at the time of his promotion on Tuesday.
