New sea species named after Cabo Verde’s World Cup star Vozinha, goalkeeper linked with Inter Miami
One of the unexpected stars of the 2026 World Cup has been Cabo Verde’s 40-year-old goalkeeper Vozinha, who has been honoured by having a newly-discovered sea species named after him. A new species of marine mollusk has been named the Aldisa vozinhai — in English, Vozinha’s sea slug — by Spanish researcher Jesus Ortea. The species is a small sea, red slug that is about four millimetres long, discovered near Cuba and Guadeloupe during Ortea’s research.
