EMMITSBURG, Md. (July 11, 2026) – Former Mount St. Mary’s baseball pitcher and 2024 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Year and First Team selection Deven Sheerin was selected in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft. A native of Reading, Pennsylvania, Sheerin was picked in the fourth round by his hometown team, the Philadelphia Phillies. Sheerin excelled in his one season in Emmitsburg, throwing 70 innings and striking out 109 batters along the way.
