Hunter Sturgill Takes Silver at U20 Pan-American Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––– Indiana Wrestling’s Hunter Sturgill competed and became a silver medalist in the U20 Pan-American Championships on Saturday (June 11). Sturgill competed in the Greco-Roman division at 72 kg for the USA. After winning his opening couple matches, Sturgill defeated Jostyn Salvatierra of Ecuador in the semifinals to advance to the championship bout. He faced Jorge Gomez Garcia in the finals, but lost the match. Despite the loss, Sturgill went home on the podium and with a silver medal.
