Tennis Tabbed as ITA All-Academic Team, Six Earn Scholar Athlete Recognition

HOUSTON — After a successful season on the court, the University of Houston Tennis team shined in the classroom as well as six student-athletes earned ITA Scholar Athlete Recognition and the team was tabbed as an ITA All-Academic Team, the association announced. Seniors Gabriela Cortes , Sophie Schouten , Chems Doha Zeghlouli and Elizaveta Morozova , junior Valeriia Krokhotina and freshman Alexia Lavinia Puiac all earned ITA Scholar Athlete recognition. The Cougars posted a 3.7 spring GPA with all eight members recording a 3.1 GPA or better. Cortes, Krokhotina, Puiac and Schouten all posted 4.0 GPAs for the semester. All…
