PHILADELPHIA — It was a celebration of America. And a celebration for the American League. The 2026 All-Star Game defied the regular-season standings that have been marked by unassertive AL teams. The 4-0 AL win in the 96th staging of the Midsummer Classic was more in keeping with a decades-long trend in which the younger of the two leagues has, save for last summer’s “swing-off,” pretty much dominated.
