Captains and Builders Set to Square Off in Inaugural Anchor Bowl Game on September 5

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — On September 5, two storied local football programs — the Christopher Newport University Captains and The Apprentice School Builders — will face off at TowneBank Stadium in the Anchor Bowl. In anticipation of this exciting matchup, events with both schools are being planned to include a luncheon, community service projects, and alumni engagement opportunities. Serving as the official launch of Anchor Bowl Week, the Anchor Bowl Kickoff Luncheon will be held on Thursday, August 27 on the campus of Christopher Newport University.
