Comets Still Looking For Week Two Football Game

When Litchfield High School canceled its 2026 varsity football schedule last month, it sent other schools in the South Central Conference on the search for another opponent. The Greenville Comets were scheduled to play at Litchfield for the second game of the season. According to Greenville Athletic Director Chad Nelson no opponent has been found. He told WGEL the team remains without an opponent for week two. Officials have contacted several schools in Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri, but have not found a matchup yet.
