HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Huntington, Hudson, Diboll pick up wins in Lufkin tourney

Huntington, Hudson and Diboll each picked up wins in the opening day of the Volley in the Pines tournament Thursday at Lufkin High School. Huntington went 2-1 on the day, defeating Lovelady 25-17, 25-18 and Hudson 26-28, 25-11, 25-18. The Devillettes lost their opening match of the tournament to Nederland 23-25, 25-20, 27-25. Hudson took a 25-17, 21-25, 25-21 win over Lovelady in its opening match Thursday but dropped the match to Huntington and lost to Nederland 25-19, 25-17.
