Castleton Comes Out Swinging With Season Opening Sweep

CASTLETON, Vt. — The Vermont State University Castleton women’s tennis team swept the Russell Sage College Gators in their home opener on Friday afternoon, 7-0. The Spartans set the tone in doubles play, winning all three matches. Olivia Rutkowski and Grace Pluff were the first doubles team to finish, earning a convincing 6-0 victory. Maggie McKearin and Halle Hipple followed with a 6-3 win, while Brooke Hecker and Andrea Rodriguez completed the doubles sweep with a 6-3 decision.
