Trojans Open Season With 2-0 Shutout of Shaw

MOUNT OLIVE – The University of Mount Olive women's soccer team opened the 2026 season in impressive fashion Friday evening, earning a 2-0 shutout victory over Shaw at Amon Field. After a scoreless opening half, the Trojans broke through in the 61st minute when Sydney Garcia found the back of the net at the 60:38 mark. Garcia's goal was a beautiful header assisted by Charlotte Benson on a corner, giving Mount Olive a 1-0 advantage.
