Barthel Captures First Shutout of 2026 in Draw with Golden Eagles

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Black Hills State University women’s soccer team traveled down I-90 to Rapid City on Saturday morning for a neutral site match-up with Minnesota Crookston, battling to a 0-0 draw at the Black Hills Surgical Sports Complex. While both teams’ offensive attacks provided opportunities, each goalkeeper did their job as Rian Barthel picked up her first shutout of the season and the duo of Phoenix DeBrusk and Payton King provided the second consecutive shutout for the Golden Eagles to begin the 2026 campaign.
