Country Day basketball star makes college choice — and he’ll play for a Country Day grad

Country Day basketball standout Kellen Brewer, the son of former NBA player Corey Brewer, has committed to play in college for UC-Santa Barbara. The 6-foot-6 Brewer averaged more than 20 points, six rebounds, three assists and nearly two blocked shots per game in Country Day’s repeat state championship season. He is a two-time Louisiana Sports Writers Association all-state selection, and he was chosen as the Class 2A player of the year last season. UCSB coach Joe Pasternack is a Country Day graduate.
