Tarleton State Football captures inaugural Chancellor’s Cup, defeats Prairie View A&M in 2026 opener

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Football brought home hardware in its first game of the 2026 season, winning the inaugural Chancellor’s Cup by defeating Prairie View A&M 49-30 on Saturday at Memorial Stadium in front of a nationally-televised audience. The Texans, the defending United Athletic Conference co-champions, was victorious over its fellow Texas A&M System school for the third time in the all-time series.
