Young Named CIAA Rookie of the Week

Donald Watkins RALEIGH, N.C. — Shaw University freshman Kristopher Young has been named the CIAA Rookie of the Week after a strong performance in the Bears' season opener. Young totaled eight tackles, including five solo stops, to lead Shaw defensively and make an immediate impact in his collegiate debut. His effort helped highlight the promise of the Bears' young defensive unit as Shaw opened the 2026 season.
