GRINNELL, Iowa – In what proved to be a tale of two halves, a goal in the 81st minute proved to be the difference as the University of Dubuque escaped Springer Field with a 1-0 victory over the Grinnell College women’s soccer team Tuesday. Playing in hot and muggy conditions in the season opener for both teams, Grinnell’s offense was on fire in the first half and the defense held firm as the teams played to a 0-all tie at its conclusion.
