Opening night stalemate

GROVE CITY, Pa. — The Grove City College men’s soccer team opened the 2026 season Tuesday night by battling longtime rival Carnegie Mellon to a scoreless draw in non-conference action at Don Lyle Field. Sophomore goalkeeper Caedmon Whipple (Canton, Mich./Plymouth Christian) recorded a shutout in his Grove City debut. Whipple stopped four shots Tuesday night. Carnegie Mellon (0-0-1) outshot Grove City (0-0-1) by a 17-5 margin. The Tartans also owned a 4-1 edge in shots on goal and a 9-1 edge in corner kicks.
