South Stokes earns first win of the season

WALNUT COVE — South Stokes picked up its first tennis victory of the season Wednesday, Aug. 26, defeating non-conference Cornerstone Charter Academy 6-3. The Sauras improved to 1-3 on the season behind four singles victories and two doubles wins. Aubri Derrenbacher led the way in singles for South Stokes, defeating Cornerstone’s Keely Griffin 8-1 at No. 1 singles. Briana Strange also turned in a dominant performance, beating Sarah Smith 8-2 at No. 3 singles.
