Redbird XC Begins Season at Fighting Illini Invitational

NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State cross-country program opens its 2026 season at the Fighting Illini Invitational on Friday, September 4. The women’s 4k race will begin at 6:30 p.m. CT. The men’s 6k race will commence immediately after around 7 p.m. CT. The event will be held at the Orange and Blue Golf Course in Savoy, Illinois. The Redbirds are participating in this event for the second-consecutive year. Both the women’s and men’s programs finished fourth among the field.
