Hilltoppers Open Season at Vulcan Invitational

BELLE VERNON, Pa. — The West Liberty University women's golf team opened the 2026-27 season Thursday at the Vulcan Invitational, finishing 14th at Cedarbrook Golf Course. The Hilltoppers posted a two-round team score of 257-over par, carding rounds of 129 and 128. The scheduled third round was canceled, leaving the tournament as a 36-hole event. Samantha Spearman paced the Hilltoppers individually, finishing tied for 48th at 26-over par. Spearman opened with a 21-over 92 before improving to a 5-over 76 in the second round.
