Costner, Gustafson make history in season opener at Bruins Night Classic

GREENVILLE, S.C. — CIU women’s cross country opened its 2026 season Friday evening at the Bruins Night Classic, hosted by Bob Jones University, with a pair of performances that landed among the fastest 4K times in program history. Freshman Savannah Costner made an immediate impact in her collegiate debut, leading the Rams with a time of 17:02.80. Costner’s mark is the third-fastest 4K time in CIU program history.
