Canadian striker Marcus Caldeira netted a brace for Minnesota United on Saturday night, extending his scoring streak to three games and sparking another almost-comeback for the Loons in a 5-4 loss to the Portland Timbers. The end-to-end nine-goal thriller at Portland’s Providence Park also saw Canada defender Joel Waterman make his Timbers debut in the 81st minute, drawing into a lineup that also featured fellow Canadian defender Kamal Miller and goalkeeper James Pantemis, and a first MLS hat-trick from Dutch and former Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen.
