Field Hockey Falls to Westfield State in Carly Newhof Classic

NORTHAMPTON - The Smith College field hockey team suffered a 3-1 setback to Westfield State in the championship game of the Caryl Newhof Classic Sunday afternoon. Junior Isabel Johnson (Fort Worth, TX/Trinity Valley School) and sophomore Nyla Flamer (Trenton, NJ/Stuart Country Day School) from Smith (1-2) were named to the Jackie Blei All-Tournament Team. Westfield State senior back Lee Gould was named the tournament's MVP, while Jocelyn Frein and Caroline Andrade earned all-tournament honors as the Owls improved to 4-0 on the year.
