Benjamin Newman Named NEC Rookie of the Week
BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – The NEC announced on Monday that redshirt freshman quarterback Benjamin Newman has been named NEC Rookie of the Week following his performance in Wagner's 31-7 victory over Southern Connecticut State on Saturday. With the selection, Newman becomes the first Wagner quarterback to earn NEC Rookie of the Week honors since Nick Doscher received the award five times during the 2009 season. Making his first collegiate start, Newman completed 23-of-33 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns.
