Giants release veteran WR Darius Slayton ahead of season opener vs. Cowboys

Darius Slayton’s run with the New York Giants is over. The Giants released the wide receiver on Monday, just days before their season opener with the Dallas Cowboys. Slayton was the team’s longest-tenured player, getting ready to kick off his eighth campaign with the franchise. The Giants selected Slayton in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Auburn, and he’s been a consistent piece of their offense ever since.
