Asa Thomas to Miss 2026-27 Season Due to Injury

UIC Athletics CHICAGO (Sept. 8, 2026) – UIC men's basketball head coach Rob Ehsan announced Tuesday that redshirt junior guard Asa Thomas will miss the 2026-27 season following recent hip surgery. A native of Lake Forest, Ill., Thomas is a 6-foot-7, 200-pound wing who transferred to UIC in May after one year at Furman and beginning his career at Clemson (he sat out the 2023-24 season following shoulder surgery).
