DeJong Earns SoCon Defensive Player Of The Week Honors

Greenville, S.C. – Furman goalkeeper Reese DeJong has been named Southern Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon by the league office. DeJong, a native of Huntersville, N.C., posted a pair of shutouts this past week as Furman claimed a 1-0 victory over Presbyterian and 3-0 win at Charleston Southern. On Thursday night, the junior stopped five shots, including a leaping effort to tip a shot over the bar and a sprawling save on a once-versus-one breakaway, to secure the win against the Blue Hose.
